I’m Tony — and I build handcrafted wooden RC boats from my workshop in the hills of central Portugal. I live in a quiet bit of forest surrounded by pine, steep slopes, and a lot of fresh air. Out here, I spend my days shaping timber, making sawdust, and bringing classic boats back to life in miniature form.
I’ve always been drawn to beautifully-built vessels: J-Class yachts, pilot cutters, steam launches, and historic working boats. Their lines, curves, and craftsmanship have a magic that modern designs rarely match.
Building them in RC form is my way of keeping that spirit alive — and sharing it with others. I design and build large-scale wooden RC boats, often upto 60 inches, using traditional techniques mixed with modern accuracy. Each model is handmade, glassed, balanced, and detailed by me from start to finish.I also document the entire process — the woodworking, hull shaping, ballast casting, joinery, and the little tricks that make these boats perform beautifully on the water.
Why I Started This Website.? For years I wanted a place to share:The boats I buildThe methods I’ve learnedTips for anyone who loves classic boatsFuture plans, kits, and downloadable building plansThis website is the home of that journey. One day soon, I’ll be offering plans, kits, and finished boats, all crafted with the same care I put into my own builds. My WorkshopUnder my house, I’m building a dedicated workshop for:JoineryHull constructionCasting keelsResin and glass workFilming detailed build videosThis space is where the real magic happens — and where every boat begins. My VisionI want to inspire people, share the beauty of classic boats, and build a small community around wooden RC craftsmanship. Whether you’re here to learn, follow along, or one day sail one of my models yourself — you’re very welcome. Thanks for stopping by,Big T
